How it all began
Our Story
Dr. Warren Frankel, his wife Kathy and their three children moved to Paso Robles from the San Fernando Valley in 1979 with a vision for a simpler life. The Frankel family first planted 20 acres of pistachios’ on the ranch, followed by 20 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. After initial success with both plantings, Dr. Frankel expanded the vineyard operation in 1997 with more Cabernet Sauvignon, 10 acres of Zinfandel and 10 acres of Merlot. Cabernet Franc, Mouvedre, Petite Sirah and Viognier are the most recent additions to the vineyard.
With the potential for a tasting room and winery that could showcase the estate vineyard fruit and become a destination for wine and art aficionados, Dr. Frankel broke ground on the winery in 2006 and opened for business in October 2007. Sculpterra now features a fine portfolio of ultra premium wines, fine art and a multi million dollar sculpture garden that greet our guests and make for a memorable wine tasting experience.
In 2002, Dr. Frankel joined with other doctors and founded “His Healing Hands“, a medical missionary foundation that sends medical missionary teams on short-term trips all over the world to care for the most needy under-privileged peoples on all five continents. They also respond to catastrophic disasters and have been invited to provide medical relief work in Indonesia after the Tsunami, Pakistan after the earthquake and Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina. Sculpterra Winery and Sculpture Garden is located at 5015 Linne Road in Paso Robles, California, approximately halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco – 250 +/- miles either way and about 4 – 5 hours driving time on State Highway 101.
From San Luis Obisopo on Highway 101 North, take the Spring Street exit and turn right at first stop light onto Niblick Road. Cross bridge and follow Niblick Road out 3 miles. Continue past Creston Road. You’ll travel through to 2 X 100 yard right/left jogs in road which turns into Linne Road. Follow Linne approximately 3 miles to Sculpterra Winery at 5015 Linne Road.
From Los Angeles on State Highway 5, take Highway 46 West just past Bakersfield to Paso Robles and turn left at first stop light entering town at Golden Hills Road. Go lefton Golden Hills Road to end at Creston Road and turn left. Follow Creston Road to first stop light at Niblick Road and turn left. Follow Niblick Road approximately halfmile to 2 X 100 yard right/left jogs in road which turns into Linne Road. Follow Linne approximately 3 miles to Sculpterra Winery at 5015 Linne Road.
From San Francisco on Highway 101 South, take Highway 46 East exit and turn left towards Bakersfield & Fresno. Continue east on Hwy 46 East approximately 1 mile to 2nd stop light at Golden Hills Road. Go right on Golden Hills Road to end of road at Creston Road and turn left. Follow Creston Road to first stop light at Niblick Road and turn left. You’ll travel through to 2 X 100 yard right/left jogs in road which turns into Linne Road. Follow Linne approximately 3 miles to Sculpterra Winery at 5015 Linne Road.
From San Francisco on State Highway 5, take Highway 41 West near Fresno to Paso Robles. Highway 41 West will merge with Highway 46 West and continue to Paso Robles. Turn left at first stop light entering town at Golden Hills Road. Go left on Golden Hills Road to end at Creston Road and turn left. Follow Creston Road to first stop light at Niblick Road and turn left. Follow Niblick Road approximately half mile to 2 X 100 yard right/left jogs in road which turns into Linne Road. Follow Linne approximately 3 miles to Sculpterra Winery at 5015 Linne Road.
