Harvest 2018 update – BRIX samples from various sections

Hello, please see attachment for today’s (9-24-18) BRIX Bucket Samples around are vineyard.
“Incredibly we are right on the verge of harvesting many grapes! Our Syrah is over 27.0 BRIX and we are harvesting that either tomorrow orWednesday along with our first load of Primitivo which is currently at 24.0 BRIX. Other varieties just about ready are Cab Franc, 25.5 BRIX and Petit Verdot and a even 25.0 BRIX. I did not check and Cabernet Sauvignon this week becasue I did so last week. I am assuming we are around 22-24 BRIX max on all CAB blocks, should be ready in 2-3 weeks time. We have a small threat of rain next week (currently 10-20 % chance of developing at all)… we are praying rain does not show. Again, I am very pleased with quality, tonnage and scheduling of this harvest thus far.”

Harvest 2018 update – BRIX checked in 6 vineyards Today

“Harvest is moving along very nicely! We are picking and finishing all Viognier blocks on our property tomorrow morning. We will then pick Pinot Noir (both clones) Wednesday and Thursday of this week, hopefully finishing all lots before the weekend. Cabernet Sauvignon is also showing signs of increased ripening, as the BRIX are now averaging higher than 21.5. Primitivo is looking so good! We now see berries becoming raisins in certain zones and we should see steady ripening with a projected pick date in 2 weeks tops. So far, quality has been excellent across the board. Good natural acidity in the grapes and BRIX should come in where we want them. No rain in the forecast, that is good news! Let’s keep on picking a little at a time, now till the end of October.”
